If you want to do something it’s as simple as just doing it. I know that may sound cliché but it applies to a lot of aspects in life. Let’s take something as simple as running. At first glance, it’s something we do from a very young age. I swear my girls went from crawling to running since that is the only speed they currently use! My wife and I are constantly telling them to slow down, no running and most importantly to cut it out. Not so much because we don’t want them to be active but at this point in their lives it’s for their safety as their little legs can’t keep up with how fast and where their brains want to take them. Every corner they take it looks like a car drifting on a wet road and you aren’t quite sure if it’s going to run into something or complete the turn.
But I digress at this point and back to my main point. Excuses are easy to find in life and will always be there. There is always an excuse. I’m tired. I’m hungry. I don’t have any time. But guess what? We’re all adults here and need to be able to set our priorities to make us happy. If you’re tired stop binging on Netflix after the kids go to bed. Those shows aren’t going anywhere! If you’re hungry, go eat a banana for a quick fuel up before you hit the road or treadmill. If you don’t have any time, make the time. Put on a pair of sneakers and go a mile if that is all you can squeeze in. You’d be surprised how easy it to squash an excuse if you want to make a change for you.
Running is as simple as putting one foot in front of the other. If you want to be a runner just do it. If you want to change your reality the only that can do it is you.
